Career Advising for Recent Grads
Graduates of degree programs have access to unlimited career advising appointments for one year after graduation. Recent grads can call or email the Career Center to schedule an appointment; they cannot be scheduled online.
Online Job and Internship Board
Handshake is our online job and internship board housing over 20,000 active employers and 4,000+ jobs and internships. Alumni can search and apply to any relevant positions. Graduates’ Handshake accounts are automatically converted to an alumni account upon graduation, and you’ll need to update it with your personal email address.
If you are having trouble logging in, please email careercenter@colum.edu.
If you are a degreed alumni who did not have a Handshake account as a student, email the Career Center to create one for you. Do not create a new account yourself online. Email careercenter@colum.edu with your legal name at the time of your graduation, preferred name, graduation year, student ID, and preferred email so we can set up your account.
Events & Programs
The Career Center hosts career education workshops, industry events, panel discussions, and other special events throughout the year. Alumni are welcome to attend any virtual or in-person event with the exception of certain recruiting events, which will be noted in even descriptions.

What better way to give back to your alma mater than to hire a Columbia student or recent grad? We invite alumni to recruit directly from Columbia for internships or job opportunities. Alumni-owned organizations also receive a discount on career fair registrations.

Want to mentor a student or fellow alum? Alumni can join the ColumAlum Network to sign up as a mentor or mentee. Share experience, tips, and support with students and recent grads looking to enter your field!
