It is never too early to start working with The Career Center. Students should visit us in the first year to explore career options, get their resume ready, and start thinking about part-time job or internship options. Alumni up to one year after graduation can make an appointment with a career advisor.

Current students can schedule online:
- Log into Handshake using your Columbia single sign-on.
- Click on “Career Center” in the left-hand menu.
- Click “Appointments” and then “Schedule a New Appointment.”
- Select the type of appointment (choose “Internship & Career Advising” for any needs outside of student employment or walk-ins with a Peer Coach).
- Choose your major from the list to see staff availability and schedule an appointment.
- You will be able to choose from in-person and virtual options.
Alumni within one year of graduation:
- Email careercenter@colum.edu to schedule an appointment. Alumni are not able to schedule online via Handshake. Note that career advising appointments are only available to alumni for up to one year after graduation.

Walk-In Resume & Cover Letter Reviews
Writing your resume for the first time? Meet with a Peer Coach first! Career Center Peer Coaches are trained by professional staff to provide resume and cover letter assistance on a walk-in basis. Walk-ins are only available to current students.
