Columbia Career Center's job and internship board, Handshake, lists over 4,000 postings on average, and all students and alumni have access to the portal 24/7. Handshake is also the place to make career advising appointments and register for our events. Employers from around the world come to Columbia to recruit, and their openings are posted on Handshake. While not exhaustive, it is a the primary source for on-campus employment opportunities and a great resource for internship and entry-level job search. Job seekers should have a number of sites they check regularly in addition to Handshake.
To Log In or Activate Your Account
Visit www.colum.joinhandshake.com to access postings, register for events, or book appointments. First-time users, will be prompted to activate their account using their Office 365 credentials through the single sign-on portal. Once are signed in, you can update your profile, upload your resume, and search for opportunities.
Alumni Log-In
Recent alumni can log in with their past credentials but will be prompted to update their email address to continue. If you are a degreed alumni who did not have a Handshake account as a student, email the Career Center to create one for you. *Do not create a new account yourself online. Email careercenter@colum.edu with your legal name at the time of your graduation, preferred name, graduation year, student ID, and preferred email so we can set up your account. Note: recent grads looking to schedule an advising appointment must email careercenter@colum.edu; they cannot schedule online.
