David Friedman Memorial Scholarship

for continuing undergraduate and graduate students

The David Friedman Memorial Scholarship was established in Fall 2002 as a memorial for a great friend to the Fiction Writing Department. A talented painter and writer, David was a kind, generous man who attended many department events, participated in alumni readings, and offered wonderful support to the department’s faculty and students.

The David Friedman Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to the best story in the Fiction Writing Department’s award-winning magazine, Hair Trigger.

Award Amount:
  • Up to $500 stipend
  • Recipient will be notified by email in November 2021.
