Stuart Abelson Triennial Endowed Scholarship for Undergraduate Students

The Stuart Abelson Triennial Endowed Scholarship was established to assist in defraying the cost of tuition for an outstanding sophomore Photography student with demonstrated financial need. The renewable scholarship will be awarded to one student every three years.

 

The Stuart Abelson Triennial Endowed Scholarship application will not run for the 2024-25 academic year.

 

The Stuart Abelson Triennial Endowed Scholarship is open to:

  • Full-time Photography majors who will complete no more than 30 credit hours by the end of the Spring semester, with at least 12 credit hours completed at Columbia by the end of the Fall semester
  • Students who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  • Students able to submit a portfolio of work for review by the Photography Department
  • Students who demonstrate financial need through a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). 
Scholarship based on:
  • Academic merit
  • Financial need
  • Submitted portfolio
Amount of scholarship:
  • Up to $6,000 per year (half awarded in Fall and half awarded in Spring)
