Paciga also recently participated in selecting the inaugural Excellence in Early Learning Digital award recipients as part of the American Library Association/Association for Library Service.

Paciga’s research contribution included a case study examining the ways in which media, by way of digital texts, contributed to literacy teaching and learning in one second grade classroom. The study was published in the Journal of Literacy and Technology’s issue called "Through the portal of art and culture: Media literacy as the art of communication." The Journal of Literacy and Technology is an online academic journal that explores the complex relationship between literacy and technology in personal and professional spheres. Paciga’s study titled “Emergently digital in grade 2: Another case of ‘3.6 Minutes Per Day?’” is available here.

Paciga also participated in selecting award and honor recipients for the inaugural Excellence in Early and Digital Learning Media as part of the American Library Association/Association for Library Service to Children's Youth Media Awards. The Excellence in Early Learning Digital Media Award is given to a digital media producer who has created distinguished media for an early learning audience.
