Columbia Students Win Fashion Scholarship Fund Case Study Scholarships

Three Columbia College Chicago Fashion Students win Case Study Scholarships from the Fashion Scholarship Fund and a trip to the Fashion Scholarship Fund Awards Gala in New York.

Columbia College Chicago would like to congratulate Cassidy Hofschulte, Grayson Lichtenstein, and Rhyarna McBride, who were each awarded $5,000 Case Study Scholarships from the Fashion Scholarship Fund (FSF) and a trip to the FSF Awards Gala in New York this past week.

Rhyarna McBride and Grayson Lichtenstein won in the design and product development category for their respective Crocs x AirBnB and Nike x3M cases, while Cassidy Hofschulte won in the merchandising and marketing scholarship category for her Wayfair x Aldi case. Cassidy and Rhyarna are two-time winners of the prestigious invitation-only national competition, which celebrates the industry’s most promising up-and-coming young talent.

Since it was founded in 1937, the Fashion Scholarship Fund, started as the Young Menswear Association, has awarded millions of dollars in scholarship funds to students pursuing a career in fashion. Today, it allocates over $1.2 million each year to help students succeed in fashion design, merchandising, tech, supply chain, and analytics. Awards range from $5,000 to $35,000 and are issued to students from over 60 colleges and universities across the United States.

Aside from financial support, the FSF provides critical networking to help students take advantage of internships, mentorships, and career opportunities in the field. This year, the FSF received over 740 scholarship applications, had 211 winners, over 175 company supporters, and connected students with over 600 fashion-industry mentors. Corporate sponsors of the FSF include Fossil, Nautica, Neiman Marcus, Macys, Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis, PVH, Sequential Brands, G-III, Kenneth Cole, Peerless, among many others.
