The Sodium War, by Nathan Merritt '03, is the story of a young couple who report on a catastrophic event in Sodium, TX, only to discover that it has political ties to Washington, DC.

Nathan Merritt '03, BA Film and Video, has recently published a fiction novel about fighting racism, The Sodium War. It is the story of a young couple who report on a catastrophic event in Sodium, TX, only to discover that it has political ties to Washington, DC.

Within a few years, a mandated blood census has wreaked havoc on the United States. Only those with Western European ancestry are allowed to retain their citizenship, leaving millions to be deported, enslaved, or worse.

To cope with these inhumane conditions, Rafe studies the Bible daily and frequently has dreams and visions. When Bri witnesses a horrific shooting by a brownsuit, they determine to accomplish the inconceivable for the sake of their unborn child and all of humanity.
