Columbia College Chicago Launches Searches for Provost, Chief Financial Officer, and General Counsel

“These searches mark a pivotal moment in Columbia’s next chapter,” said Dr. Shantay N. Bolton, President and Chief Executive Officer of Columbia College Chicago. “I am assembling a leadership team that reflects the creativity, integrity, and excellence that define our community. Together, we will strengthen Columbia’s academic core, advance fiscal and operational resilience, and chart a future that empowers our students, faculty, and staff to thrive in a rapidly changing world.”
The strategic planning process began last month and will continue to guide a comprehensive, collaborative effort that will define Columbia’s direction for the next three years. Renaissance Rising will engage students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, and external stakeholders to envision how Columbia can best prepare creative professionals for the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow.
The Senior Vice President and Provost will serve as Columbia’s chief academic officer, championing innovation in curriculum design and faculty development. The Chief Financial Officer will provide strategic financial leadership, guiding the College toward fiscal resilience, transparency, and operational excellence. The Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel will oversee all legal affairs and compliance supporting institutional integrity and advancing a culture of ethical leadership.
“Renaissance Rising reflects Columbia’s bold commitment to reimagining the future of creative higher education,” President Bolton said. “These leadership roles will help drive our transformation by strengthening our academic enterprise, enhancing operational excellence, and positioning the College for lasting impact.”
The Senior Vice President and Provost search is being conducted in partnership with AGB Search, and Columbia welcomes nominations and applications from visionary leaders who are passionate about student-centered, inclusive, and mission-driven higher education.
