“Chambre Noire (Dark Room)”

The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago will present “Chambre Noire (Dark Room)” in partnership with the third Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival biennial showcase.

The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago will present Chambre Noire (Dark Room), one of the performances from and in partnership with the third Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival biennial showcase. The showcase features the very best of puppetry arts from around the word.

The Dance Center will host the French/Norwegian puppet company Plexus Polaire to present Chambre Noire (Dark Room). The performance is based on the story of the radical American feminist and SCUM Manifesto author Valerie Jean Solanas. The event will feature a duet between puppeteer Yngvild Aspeli and percussionist Ane Marthe Sørlien Holen which employs life-sized puppets, video projections, a dose of dark humor, and a chaotic cabaret of sound to illuminate the story of an outrageously complex woman.

This performance is recommended for ages 16 and older. Tickets can be purchased here.
