Lecture in Photography: Jennifer Blessing

Jennifer Blessing, senior curator of photography at New York’s Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, will speak at the Ferguson Lecture Hall March 7.

Jennifer Blessing worked at the Guggenheim from 1989 to 97, and joined the curatorial staff in 2002.  She develops the Guggenheim’s photography collection and organizes photography-based exhibitions. She is the curator behind Carrie Mae Weems: Three Decades of Photography and Video (2014), Rineke Dijkstra: A Retrospective (2012), Francesca Woodman (2012), Haunted: Contemporary Photography/Video/Performance (2010), and most recently, Photo-Poetics: An Anthology (2016). She has also co-written books on Francesca Woodman, Catherine Opie, Henry M. Buhl, and others.

Lectures in Photography are co-presented by the Museum of Contemporary Photography and the Photography Department at Columbia College Chicago.
