Cinema and Television Arts alum Aaron Legg ’17 will have his animationThe Amazing Neckbeard featured at the Millennium Park Summer Film Series as a part of the ChicagoMade Shorts Series. The Millennium Park Summer Film Series is co-curated by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and screens free movies at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion and Great Lawn on Tuesdays from June 5 through August 21. The Summer Film Series works with the ChicagoMade Shorts Series and the Independent Film Initiative to celebrate and highlight local talent to audiences of thousands. The Amazing Neckbeard will be shown Monday July 9 at 10:30 a.m. beforeThe Iron Giant.

Legg’s short The Amazing Neckbeard conveys heroism through a quirky protagonist. The stop-motion comedy has a runtime of three minutes and was developed in Legg’s animation capstone course at Columbia. After its October 10, 2017 release, the short received official selections from the Animation Studio Festival, the Wildwood Film Festival, the Motion for Pictures Screening Series, and several other festivals and outlets.
