Biography

Andrew Nackman is an adjunct faculty in Cinema and Television Arts, focusing on screenwriting, directing and editing.

He is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker from Sleepy Hollow, NY. He was nominated in 2023 for Outstanding Short Documentary for his directing work on the animated-documentary TV series FIGHTLORE.  He has also directed two feature films. His latest, PAULIE GO!, starring Tracie Thoms, Madison Wolfe and Ethan Dizon, came out in 2022 to strong reviews, including The New York Times, and was distributed by 1091 Pictures. It's currently streaming on Amazon Prime. PAULIE GO! is adapted from Andrew’s award-winning 2012 short film PAULIE. PAULIE played at over 100 film festivals worldwide, won the Grand Jury Prize at the Palm Springs ShortFest and qualified for the Academy Awards Short List in the Best Live Action Short Film category.

Prior to directing PAULIE GO!, Andrew also directed the award-winning LGBTQ+ comedy 4TH MAN OUT, starring Kate Flannery, Chord Overstreet and Parker Young, which won Best Film at Outfest in 2015 and was released theatrically by Gravitas Ventures in 2016 before selling to Netflix.Andrew has also worked as an editor on various feature films and television series, both fiction and documentary. Among his editing credits, he co-edited Lauren Greenfield's 2019 WGA-nominated documentary THE KINGMAKER, which premiered at the Venice, Toronto and Telluride film festivals and is distributed by Showtime.Andrew received his MFA in Film Production from USC School of Cinematic Arts and his BA in English from Washington University in St. Louis.
