Biography

I am an adjunct instructor in the Business and Entrepreneurship department teaching music production classes.

I have been a music producer, recording/mixing engineer, musician, songwriter, and teacher for the past 32 years.

I have been a staff engineer at both Chicago Trax and StudioChicago recording studios, and have also been a partner at two music production companies (Music Chicago and Roger Bain Communications) writing, producing, engineering, and performing on numerous local, regional, and national radio and television commercials.

Ad clients I’ve worked for have included: Ford, McDonald’s, NBC television, AT&T, Dairy Queen etc.

As a musician, engineer, and/or producer, I have worked with music artists:         R Kelly, Vanessa Williams, Survivor, Ministry, Doobie Brothers, Jimmy Buffett, Ramsey Lewis, Night Ranger etc.

I was a founding member of the band Captive Heart. Managed by former Capital Records president Don Zimmerman, the group was signed to the MTM Music label.

In addition to Columbia College Chicago, I have taught a variety of recording and music production classes for Flashpoint Chicago and the Music Industry Workshop.

I have a B.A from Columbia College Chicago in Studio Recording and Music Production.
