Melissa Lawrenz is a Chicago based filmmaker and editor. She holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.F.A. in film production from Columbia College Chicago. Her work has screened at over 300 film festivals worldwide including her experimental documentary I Hope, Grandmother which also screened on PBS and at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C. She edited the feature film The Other One which was written and directed by Columbia College Professor Josef Steiff and is available on streaming platforms. She was the Senior Video Editor for The Onion for five years and now freelances for companies in the US.
