Dance

For more than 40 years, Columbia College Chicago has educated world-renowned performers, instructors, and innovators in dance.

As a Dance major at Columbia, you’ll learn choreography, technique, and improvisation across a wide range of styles. You'll also see a diverse array of performances at Columbia's Dance Center, Chicago’s leading presenter of contemporary dance. All of the artists who perform at the Dance Center also lead workshops and talk-backs with Columbia students.

You’ll receive a first-rate liberal arts education with opportunities for cross-training in theatre, digital technology, and arts management. Our faculty of professional performers, choreographers, and dance scholars will help you hone your artistic voice and plan a career in the arts.

With a jam or battle as the focal point, B-Series events become a gathering space for the underground dance community. The events connect the rich culture of hip hop, from dance to MCing, rapping, DJing, and graffiti, to the Columbia community.Read More
