Student Short Part of 29th Black Harvest Film Festival
Shilo Tumo WashingtonThe 29th Black Harvest Film Festival will feature a film by Shiloh Tumo Washington ’22, a recent Cinema and Television Arts graduate, as part of the Shorts Program: FROM THE BLOCK – SURREAL on Nov. 4 and 11. The festival will be held at the Gene Siskel Film Center in Chicago.
The program will showcase a collection of homegrown narrative shorts. Washington’s film, “One for My Baby,” is a romance story that unfolds in reverse and is revealed through memories triggered by improvisional music.
Washington produced the short while at Columbia College Chicago as part of the Fictional Cinema Production course. He writes both fiction and nonfiction, with film his preferred medium of artistic expression.
The 29th Black Harvest Film Festival celebrates “Revolutionary Visions,” the history, politics, and art honoring the remarkable legacy of revolutionary struggle across the diaspora, and the intersectionality of Black experiences worldwide.
