Calling all creatives! It's time to show off your creative project for a chance to win a prize! The Black Album Mixtape with Regina Taylor is excited to invite all artists, musicians, poets, and more to participate.

In partnership with Columbia College Chicago, Golden Globe award-winning actress, director and playwright Regina Taylor is curating student work that promotes nationwide conversations exploring identity, technology, social justice, and creativity in these fast-shifting times. Students are invited to submit their original work to the Black Album Mixtape. Six lucky creatives will be selected to win an award of $400.

The theme of the Black Album Mixtape is “Stand Up, Speak Out.” Ms. Taylor articulates the key themes and questions by asking, “Who are we at this moment in time? What are the key questions that we need to talk about?” “We are neck deep” in challenges to the long-term viability of democracy in the US, facing existential questions about guns and violence, gender and identity, who has a platform to speak and whose voice is erased. “Stand Up, Speak Out” is meant to facilitate conversation and creative response to these questions and more.

The deadline for submissions is March 29, and can be of any discipline or media - but must be under 7 minutes for audiovisual media. Learn more and submit work at
