Fifth Annual Wabash Arts Corridor Crawl to Feature Performance Artists, Exhibition Openings, and New Murals

CHICAGO (Oct. 19, 2017)Columbia College Chicago and Wabash Arts Corridor (WAC) present the 5th annual WAC Crawl on Friday, Oct. 20 from 4–9 p.m. The free public event showcases the creative energy of Columbia and the South Loop neighborhood by featuring more than 40 exhibitions, performances, and events from businesses and major cultural and educational institutions in the area. The event will take place along Wabash Ave. from Congress Pkwy. to Roosevelt Rd. 

Featured performances and events include:

“WAC Crawl brings together artists, students, cultural organizations, businesses, residents, and myriad partners as one vibrant community of creatives,” says Neysa Page-Lieberman, Executive Director of Columbia’s Department of Exhibition and Performance Spaces and WAC Chief Curator. “This year celebrates the culmination of STREET LEVEL, WAC’s 2nd Annual Public Art Festival, which includes 6 new murals, an inaugural performance series, and numerous new media installations,” she says. “Crawl celebrates the extraordinary accomplishments of a community broadening the scope of public art engagement in Chicago.” 

WAC Crawl coincides with Columbia Weekend, the college’s signature “welcome back” event of the fall semester. A full list of Crawl events is available here.
