Semester in LA Statement
We want to learn about YOU, to get a sense of what makes you tick, what inspires you, and where you see yourself in 10 years.
In 200 words or fewer for each question, answer the following four questions:
The obstacles we face in our life teach us lessons that can be fundamental to our later success. Briefly recount a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you and what have you learned from the experience?
What is your favorite book that you read in the past year? Don't summarize the plot. Give us details about why this book resonates with you.
Who from the entertainment industry would you most like to meet and why?
Where do you see yourself professionally in 10 years?
Acceptance to the program is conditional. There is a series of milestones you must meet before you can officially enroll. You will be given a list of these conditions as well as dates and procedures on how to satisfy them at orientation:
Academic self-audit with College Advising.
Meeting with Columbia's Career Center and registering with the college’s employment database.
Proof of health insurance.
Attendance at orientation session(s).
Clearance of all restrictions to registration, including financial holds.
If you plan on graduating directly after the program, you will need to apply for graduation before leaving Chicago.
