Tere O’Connor Dance

Undersweet + Transcendental Daughter

November 3, 4 & 5, 2016 • 7:30 p.m.

“...meaning, formulated by Mr. O’Connor’s uncanny sense of structure, is attained not from story but from sensation.” The New York Times

Tere O’Connor presents Undersweet and Transcendental Daughter, both born of a pair of considerations: one a long-held aesthetic proposal, and the other an actual concern for the human condition. In Undersweet, a duet created on and with Michael Ingle and Silas Riener, O’Connor proposes that formalism might be generated by repressed sexual desire, a paradox that finds expression through this choreographic meditation. Transcendental Daughter bears the imprint of upheaval in our world and the sense of the loss of human traits such as compassion and reason. James Baker, a longtime collaborator, will create the musical score for the new trio.
