All proceeds from the sale of two of their latest singles will benefit organizations dedicated to social justice.

Columbia College Chicago is pleased to announce that the band sTaTeSiDe, which is made up of Joe Ayoub (bassist for Shakira and "American Idol"), Justin Avery (arranger for "American Idol" and keyboardist for MEATLOAF), and Columbia College Chicago Adjunct Instructor in the Music Department Derek Fawcett, has released new music. Their new single, "Feels Like Forever," is described by Fawcett as a "driving dance party for these anxious times." The song features Fawcett and Kat Evans on lead vocals, Justin Avery on synths, keys, backing vocals, and drum programming, and Joe Ayoub on the bass and guitars.

The proceeds from the sales of the song will benefit World Central Kitchen, an organization dedicated, as their website states, to "paying local restaurants to prepare fresh, comforting, meals for their neighbors in need." This organization is dedicated to helping both restaurants stay afloat and communities stay fed.

sTaTeSiDe is no stranger to using their platform to help affect social change. They also dedicated all of the proceeds from their last single, "Lines" to Black Lives Matter Chicago

Questions regarding both singles or the future of this socially-conscious music collective can be directed to Derek Fawcett at dfawcett@colum.edu.
