Biography

I have been teaching in the Theatre Department for the past 18 years. I teach Scenes: Performance & Analysis, Scenes & Basic Skills for Non-Majors, and Speaking Out.  I have been a professional actor for the past 25 years.  The last 2 films I acted in won awards in the US and internationally.  I have done theatre, improv, film, TV, voiceover and print work. 

I have also been a professional speaker, trainer and speaking coach for 20 years.  I have spoken to major corporations and associations in the US and internationally.  You can check out my website at www.loriklinka.com

I LOVE teaching at Columbia because the students are so creative and eager to learn their craft. I also love the fact that the teachers are all practicing artists and are in the front lines in their fields.  The students learn real world practical knowledge they will apply to their careers.  I hope you will take one of my classes so that I can help you advance in your career.

Instructional Areas

I love teaching many different acting classes. I also teach Speaking Out which is a public speaking class. It's important to me to teach as many practical real world skills as possible such as interviewing and auditioning skills. Information about how the acting business works and how to apply good communication skills to advance in any career you choose.
