Join Us for Admitted Student Day

Our Admitted Student Days are designed to help you and your family decide if Columbia is the right place for you. Come to campus and tour academic departments, take a workshop with a faculty member, learn how to fund your education, and mingle with Columbia students and other admitted students like yourself.

All Admitted Student Day Events are currently full. You may use this link to add yourself to the waiting list. We will do our best to accommodate everyone interested in attending. Please contact your Columbia Representative or see our visit page for other campus visit options.

Which department tour should I choose?
It’s best to choose the department that houses your intended major. If you’re not sure which one that is, or if you’re undecided, you can use the links below to explore:

Explore performing arts, music, and sound programs:

Explore management, communication, and writing programs:

Explore visual arts and media arts programs:

Students interested in studying American Sign Language should contact to set up an individual appointment with that department, or register for an Academic Visit.

Will you provide meals?

We'll provide a light breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

Where can I park?

There are many parking lots on or near campus—several located on Wabash Avenue. Parking in the area ranges from $10 to $25 and up; weekend rates may vary. We do not recommend parking on the street.

Can you recommend any hotels?

Find Accommodations and Directions

View hotels that offer a special Columbia rate. Reserve your hotel rooms as early as you can, as Chicago hotels tend to fill up well in advance.

What if I can’t make it?

You have other options to visit. Get a feel for what life’s like at Columbia by taking a campus tour, given year-round by current students. Or take a virtual walking tour of campus.
