Exploring AfroDominican Traditions

The Library and the Humanities, History, and Social Sciences Department will host a conversation with artist Fabio Rodriguez on the complex cultural relationship between Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

The Library and the Humanities, History, and Social Sciences (HHSS) Department will host a Skype conversation with artist Fabio Rodriguez Wednesday, November 28. Rodriguez’s work centers on the complex relationship between the Dominican Republic and Haiti while forming connections to contemporary Caribbean culture.

This event is co-sponsored by the Library and HHSS Department. Media sponsors include Contratiempo and Illinois Latino Voice. Guest speakers are courtesy of HHSS faculty member Jesus Macarena-Avila’s course “Caribbean Art, Literature and Music.”

This event is free and open to the public.
