Art + Design
In the Art + Design Department at Columbia College Chicago, we know that you can make an enduring career with your artistic talents. We encourage innovation and commitment throughout our curriculum. Our programs will help you develop your aesthetic and critical sense, your creative problem-solving skills, and your expertise with materials and diverse technologies. You will learn professional expertise within your discipline while fostering collaborations throughout the department. You’ll also develop the interdisciplinary perspective needed to work on a superior level and possess the qualities that make our graduates not only exceptional artists and designers, but great leaders and entrepreneurs, as well.
Our faculty and staff possess an enthusiasm about making art that is actively communicated to students through their words and actions. Over two hundred full and part-time educators possess a tremendous range of skill sets. They are gifted teachers, as well as award winning, internationally practicing artists and designers. Our talented staff members also come from the professional ranks and provide expert assistance and service throughout the department, in all technologies. We are truly are a community of individuals eager to share our insights and experience.
