David McNutt, M.S., M.BA.
Assistant Professor, Live & Installed Sound
David McNutt brings a unique blend of technical, business, and end operational experience to his teaching. His career work includes commercial writing and production; mobile live performance engineering; system design, system integration, business owner, entrepreneur, as well as management positions with manufacturers including Crest Audio, Electro-Voice, and Sennheiser.
Mr. McNutt holds a B.A. in Mass Communications, an M.S. in Telecommunications from Indiana University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He was the founder of db Integrated Systems, the company that built the audio systems at Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park.
A regular columnist in Sound and Communication magazine, he has written many articles on technology and business in the system integration industry, and is the principal consultant in The McNutt Group, a business consulting resource to system integration companies.
Mr. McNutt is a member of the Audio Engineering Society and actively involved in NSCA (National Systems Contracting Association), and ICIA (International Communication and Information Association.)
