Welcome to the homepage for the new Department of Creative Writing at Columbia College Chicago. For the first time ever, we are thrilled to announce that our renowned programs in Fiction, Poetry, and Nonfiction are coming together under one roof in this new department. This creative union will afford students a wealth of cross-genre opportunities, better serving their futures as writers in an increasingly interdisciplinary and competitive job market.

We offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in all three genres. Our programs are led by a nationally and internationally renowned faculty, centered in the country's largest arts and media college and one of the nation's most celebrated literary and artistic cities.
