Erin Teegarden
Literature
Erin Teegarden teaches Introduction to Literature and Introduction to Poetry at Columbia College. She received an MFA from the University of Pittsburgh in poetry and a BA from Indiana University in journalism. She is the founder and former managing editor of the University of Pittsburgh's first online literary journal, nidus. She is currently the co-founder, co-organizer and emcee of the Reconstruction Room ( a.k.a. "rec room"), a bi-monthly reading and performance series in Chicago (www.recroomers.com). She is a former recipient of the Associated Writing Programs' "Intro Journals Award," for poetry, and has twice been a finalist in the Gwendolyn Brooks Open Mic Awards. Her poetry has appeared in: the Bellingham Review, pms (poemmemoirstory), Lorraine and James, Eye-Rhyme, Sunspinner, Conte Online, preling, and Pittsburgh's City Paper, among others.
