Lauren Viera

Lauren Viera has been writing journalistically about the arts since she launched her career as a music critic in 1996. She has contributed articles on the arts, fashion and culture to magazines, newspapers and alternative weeklies ranging from VICE, Venus and Blender to the Los Angeles Times, the Village Voice and the Chicago Tribune, where she is currently a reporter-editor on the Features desk. Previously, she had been a Senior Editor on the launch staff of Time Out Chicago. She landed in Chicago in 2002 after a stint in New York on the launch staff of Lucky Magazine at Condé Nast Publications, where she also contributed to the company's Special Editorial Projects division.
Lauren received her double-B.A. in Musicology and Visual Arts/Architecture from Oberlin College where she edited the award-winning Oberlin Review. She is a native of Claremont, California.
