Robert Simoncini
First Year Writing; Professional Writing
Teaching is a journey upon which Bob has only recently embarked. In coming to Columbia six years ago, after more than thirty years in the corporate world, Bob was able to fulfill a life-long dream of teaching at the higher education level, and to seize the opportunity of teaching writing, the subject for which he has always had a passion. In his FYW classes, Bob focuses on topics related to globalization and popular culture, which will encourage students to think and discuss critically and express their thoughts on paper, clearly and passionately. Given Bob’s recent experience in industry, his Business Writing classes focus on timely issues and challenges presented in the global workplace.
Bob and his wife, Paula Cameron, enjoy traveling, especially to his native Italy, but also extensively elsewhere. He earned a BS from Elmhurst College, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
