Interactive Arts and Media IAM
In the Interactive Arts and Media Department students learn to create interactive art, media, and games that are innovative and compelling. They work with faculty who are accomplished professionals to achieve several goals: thinking critically, solving problems creatively, and developing an individual and imaginative voice in their work. in interactive arts, multimedia, web design, interaction and interface design, and game design. Students study aesthetics, theory, technology, cultural and ethical issues in preparation for entering diverse and successful careers.

CONSTRUCT SUMMER PLAY TESTING

The IAM Department seeks play testers for the summer to participate in CONSTRUCT, a unique collaborative game that includes experimental gaze tracking and voice recognition.

Each play tester will participate for a total of 6 hours of play testing during 2-3 separate sessions. Players are randomly chosen to participate in groups of 5 per session and paid $20/hour. Play testers are required to provide their date of birth, email, phone number and signed release forms for participation.

Generative and Algorithmic Art (36-3310-01)

The course will use programming to create artwork; if you are interested in interactive, visual, and time-based artworks developed with code then you might enjoy this new class!

Course description: This junior level course allows students to explore code as art in an advanced setting; students are expected to create complex work using various generative techniques and principles. Students will experiment with algorithmic techniques throughout the semester, and complete the course with a larger work or series of works.
