WCRX Heats Up with UIC Flames Games

Throughout January and February WCRX-FM will broadcast UIC Flames Men and Women's basketball games for the 2011-2012 basketball season. These broadcasts mark the seventh straight year that WCRX has added play-by-play sports to the radio station's overall programming.

The student broadcast team of Sam Panayotovich and Marco Scola will bring you all of the exciting action this season including pre-game and post game analysis. WCRX Sports Director Sam Panayotovich had this to say about the experience, "It is an absolute privilege to broadcast UIC Flames college basketball on WCRX. The only way to improve in sports play-by-play is through repetition, and we get to call around a dozen games per season. The Radio Department has had the opportunity to add life and color to some really exciting finishes and I can truly say that our sound has continuously gotten better and better. Plus, the Horizon League has sent a representative to the national title game two years in a row, so we're in good company."
