Mission Statement

As an integral part of the Science and Mathematics Department, the Institute for Science Education and Science Communication (“Science Institute”) of Columbia College Chicago has the mission to promote scientific literacy within the general public.  The Science Institute seeks to encourage and stimulate interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) by providing educational environments that encourage the general public to learn, explore, discover, and become well-informed citizens.
