The Television Department of Columbia College Chicago holds the distinction of being the only premier college TV department in the country. The department serves a student body of more than 300 majors offering a curriculum structure with four concentrations:

Our mission is to offer an education in Television that balances creativity, technology and ethics in an environment of collaboration and support for the individual creative voice. Our faculty combines the best of academic and professional skills.
Our students contribute to both the local and global communities as they inform, entertain and inspire us all. Columbia's TV Department boasts 3 state-of-the-art production studios utilizing industry standard production and post-production tools.
In addition, the School of Media Arts has built a state-of-the art high-definition, multi-camera remote production truck that is used by the department for a wide variety of classes and productions. Television matters now more than ever. It is the medium that best captures and reflects the culture of our time.
