Summer Programs
Some academic departments at Columbia have created study abroad programs specific to their concentrations. These programs usually run in the summer and are open to all Columbia students. To find out more about these programs, reference the information below or contact the departments directly.
Prague Study Abroad Program, 2012 - Offered by the Fiction Writing Department Program
Program Dates: May 12 - June 24, 2012
Courses Include: Advanced Fiction, Topics in CRW II: Kafka, CRW: Contemporary European Authors, Dreams and Fiction Writing, and Topics in CRW: Fiction Writers Abroad. Other courses may also be added, depending on interest. Prerequisites may be waived.
Spend a life-changing semester in one of Eastern Europe's most vibrant and historic cultural centers. The Fiction Writing Department's Summer Session in Prague provides students the opportunity to live as ex-pats for six weeks, expand their horizons and world view, and study the work of the writers who lived in this beautiful, complex, and fascinating city. Excursions, tours, and field trips will complement the work and writing done for the courses, and students will have ample time to explore the city on their own, to further pursue their own stories.
