Two Options for Professional Convenience

The MA can be earned one of two ways. The first is full time study over the course of one calendar year. The second is through our Low Residency Intensive Summer Program, in which students complete two nine-week consecutive summer sessions on campus. During the months between summer sessions, students complete independent study while still gaining feedback and support from faculty remotely.  If interested in the Low Residency Intensive Summer Program, please e-mail gradstudy@colum.edu for more information and how to apply..

Connecting to the Contemporary Art World

The Interdisciplinary Arts, MA student’s classroom and studio experience is enriched by the dedicated, working artists who make up both the student’s faculty and peers.  In addition Columbia College Chicago’s Interdisciplinary Arts department hosts a Visiting Artist program in which internationally renowned professional artists engage with students through seminars, workshops, lectures, and individual critiques. Students graduate the program with a broader understanding of the contemporary art world, new and expanded technical skills, and a professional portfolio.
