SUPPORT STUDENT ARTISTS.

THE MISSION
ShopColumbia, Columbia College Chicago's student art store features original designs created and inspired by Columbia artists. Spanning all media and disciplines, ShopColumbia is defined by what Columbia students are making right now. An extension of the classroom and a laboratory for experimentation, the store supports students by providing a professional environment to learn the process of marketing and selling work and a vibrant venue for earning income.

THE HISTORY
The Department of Exhibition and Performance Spaces (DEPS), the student centers and galleries of Columbia College, opened ShopColumbia on October 16, 2008 to address the need to provide students a commercial venue for showcasing and selling their work. As the one-year milestone approaches, ShopColumbia has met all goals set and exceeded growth expectations. Since opening its doors, ShopColumbia artists have earned over $155,000 from the sale of their work. Proceeds from sales also support student scholarships. In addition, with the skills learned by working with the store, students become empowered to expand into external marketplaces.

ShopColumbia now offers online shopping. New items will be added each week so visit often!

ShopColumbia will be closed Friday, May 18 and Monday, May 21st.
All Campus buildings will be closed for the NATO conference.

ARTISTS
Students and alumni--do you want to sell your work at ShopColumbia? The ShopColumbia Review Board will be meeting early February to review new work. Submit by the March 1st to have your work reviewed.
