Across the Way
Photography, Undergraduate
Project Summary: The rapid redevelopment in many of Chicago's neighborhoods offers a dramatic contrast between old and new, rich and poor. Across the Way is a comparative study of structures located in the same area, including new residential and industrial developments in relation to their environment. The images reflect the types of areas developers take advantage of: old industrial corridors, low-income neighborhoods, and areas on the fringes of major transportation lines. This work has been self-published as a book, which is collected by The Newberry Library & The Chicago History Society.
