Our programs provide an extraordinary, collaborative learning environment that can kickstart your creative future.
Writers write. Ultimately, your writing process is your own. But Columbia’s undergraduate programs in Fiction, Nonfiction and Poetry provide an extraordinary, collaborative learning environment that can kickstart your creative future. In an increasingly interdisciplinary and competitive job market, the department offers cross-genre opportunities to enrich your experience and cultivate your unique voice.
The Department of Creative Writing offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in all three genres, as well as three minor programs. Our programs are led by nationally and internationally known faculty members who teach, live and write in one of the most celebrated literary and artistic cities in the world.
