Columbia’s core four-year undergraduate degree program in Journalism and Journalism MA program provide hands-on, multimedia experience in reporting, writing, editing, producing and publishing in state-of-the-art newsrooms and on mobile devices. You’ll be trained by award-winning reporters, editors and visual journalists with the practical, ethical and technical skills you’ll need in a dynamic news environment. Through enriching internship opportunities, you’ll gain hands-on, real-world experience.
The Washington Experience is a three-week course offered every summer to qualified graduate students and advanced undergraduate students. As a student in the program, you’ll cover press conferences and news briefings on and off Capitol Hill. You’ll also become familiar with Washington institutions like the U.S. Supreme Court, National Press Club and Newseum.
