Research Facility

In addition to the actual artifacts and costumes, the study collection houses printed materials, slides and videotapes available as resources for faculty, students, and researchers.

Fashion Periodicals: Examples of historic out-of-print fashion periodicals and the major fashion magazines dating from 1948 to the present.
Patterns: Folkwear patterns and commercial patterns dating from the 1920's.
Picture Files: Clipping files of various designers' work, period costumes, fashion plates, and ethnic costumes.
Books: General fashion references, clothing construction books, and other craft instructional guides.
Videotapes: Videos of fashion collections of specific designers, historic costume periods, and the customs and costumes of various cultures.
Slides: A collection of historic and ethnic costume slides.
Facility will be open to the public in December 2002.
