Where did you receive your post graduate education? MusikhochschuleLuebeck – Germany.

What is your hometown? Buzau, Romania

What is your preferred age to teach? Four years old.

What is your preferred student level to teach? I enjoy teaching students of all levels.

How long have you been at Sherwood? I have been teaching at Sherwood for one year.

What do you want to impart to your students through your teaching? The pleasure of playing with a beautiful sound, full of imagination, the love of listening to the music of great artists, the idea that music transforms us and makes us become noble and beautiful human beings.

Are there specific methods or techniques that you use in your teaching that may be important to share with new students? I use different methods to create a learning experience that meets the varied needs of my students, always encouraging maximum enjoyment and a minimum of stress. I emphasize technique as an art; each technical exercise must be worked and learned on a physiological basis. This way of training teaches not only the muscles but also the emotional feeling that is created when we play a key.

What do you most enjoy about teaching? I like working with so many personalities and getting to learn so much from all the children.

Describe your musical pursuits outside of Sherwood. Attending concerts, teaching, early childhood music instructor.

What is your earliest musical experience or best musical memory? Back in Romania, as a child I studied in a music school while also attending my regular elementary school. My parents decided that I should move to a different school so that I could study other disciplines and not focus so much on just playing the piano. But after a while, they couldn't stand my crying about wanting to go back to my music school and my piano teacher, so I went back to studying music and have never looked back.

Please describe one of your favorite teachers or mentors. I have learned much from all my teachers, but my favorite was my first piano teacher who taught me much more than just piano. She taught me self discipline, self efficiency, and how to be confident.

Who is your favorite composer or what is your favorite musical period? Ludwig van Beethoven. The Baroque and Romantic eras are my favorite musical periods.
