Briefly describe your musical pursuits outside Sherwood.
Solo and chamber performances; member of several musical organizations: Music Teachers of Hyde Park, Hyde Park Piano Seminar, Chicago Area Music Teachers Association; also frequently asked to judge competitions.
What do you want to impart to your students through your teaching?
A love of music and the experience of making good music.
Are there specific methods or techniques that you use in your teaching that may be important to share with prospective students?
My goal is to find the technical and musical approach that meshes with both the student and the particular piece being played.
What do you enjoy most about teaching?
Watching students succeed; seeing them understand something and be able to do something they couldn’t do before.
