Christine Sneed

Christine Sneed's Portraits of a Few of the People I've Made Cry won the 2009 AWP Grace Paley Prize in Short Fiction and was a Los Angeles Times Book Prize finalist for first fiction. Portraits received Ploughshares' 2011 John C. Zacharis Prize for a first book and was the Chicago Writers Association's book of the year in traditionally published fiction. Her novel Little Known Facts (Bloomsbury) was named Chicago Magazine's Best New Book by a Local Author and one of Booklist's Top Ten Debut Novels of 2013. Her fiction has appeared in Best American Short Stories, PEN/O. Henry Prize Stories, Ploughshares, Southern Review, New England Review, and Glimmer Train. She recently won the Chicago Public Library Foundation's 21st Century Award, honoring significant recent achievement by a Chicago-area writer. Sneed is visiting writer for the Columbia College Chicago Department of Creative Writing this semester and also teaches for Northwestern University's graduate writing program. She resides in Evanston.
