Christine Sneed

Christine Sneed won the 2009 Grace Paley Prize in Short Fiction for her story collection, Portraits of a Few of the People I've Made Cry, which was a finalist for the 2010 Los Angeles Times Book Prize, first-fiction category, and was long-listed for the Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award. Portraits also won Ploughshares' John C. Zacharis Award, an annual prize given to a Ploughshares' author's first book. Sneed and her story collection also captured the Chicago Writer's Association Award for Traditionally Published Fiction. In April 2012, her story "The First Wife" will appear in the 2012 PEN/O.Henry Prize Stories anthology, and in 2013, Bloomsbury Press will publish her novel Little Known Facts. Sneed's stories have also appeared in Best American Short Stories, the Southern Review, New England Review, Meridian, TriQuarterly Online, Massachusetts Review and a number of other journals. She teaches creative writing for DePaul University and Northwestern University.
