Megan Stielstra's story collection, Everyone Remain Calm, was a Chicago Tribune Favorite of 2011. Her essay collection, Once I Was Cool, is forthcoming in May 2014. Her fiction and nonfiction have appeared in The Best American Essays 2013, the Rumpus, PANK, Other Voices, F, Make, Pindeldyboz, and Swink. Stielstra is literary director of the acclaimed 2nd Story, and has told stories for the Goodman, Steppenwolf, Museum of Contemporary Art, Wordstock, Neo-Futurarium, Victory Gardens, Cabinet of Wonders, and The Paper Machete live news magazine at Green Mill. She teaches writing and performance at Columbia College Chicago, and is associate director of the Center for Innovation in Teaching Excellence. She is faculty in creative nonfiction at Northwestern University, a lecturer in creative writing at University of Chicago, and a 3Arts Teaching Artist Award Finalist for her 2nd Story work, helping people of all ages get their stories on the page.
