Megan Stielstra

Megan Stielstra is the author of Once I Was Cool, a collection of essays, and Everyone Remain Calm, a collection of stories. Her work can be read in The Best American Essays 2013, Poets & Writers, The Rumpus, PANK and elsewhere, and heard on Chicago Public Radio, NPR and Radio National Australia. She is the literary director of the critically acclaimed 2nd Story storytelling series and has told stories for all sorts of festivals, theaters and bars, including the Goodman, Steppenwolf, Neo-Futurarium, Museum of Contemporary Art, and regularly for the Paper Machete live news magazine at the Green Mill. She teaches creative writing at Columbia College Chicago and serves as the associate director of the Center for Innovation in Teaching Excellence.
