Roger and Sylvia McNair Travel Story Scholarship

for continuing undergraduate and graduate students

The Roger and Sylvia McNair Travel Story Scholarship was established to encourage international travel among Creative Writing - Fiction students and to support the experience of studying and writing abroad by assisting with the costs of tuition and fees. This year, the program will support students interested in studying in one of Creative Writing-Fiction study abroad programs in Paris, Rome, or Prague.

Deadlines to Apply:

  • For J-Term 2015 award: December 19, 2014 - Paris or Rome
  • For Summer 2015 award:  April 15, 2015 - Prague

The Roger and Sylvia McNair Travel Story Scholarship is open to:

  • Full- and part-time undergraduate and graduate students
  • Students who intend to participate in a Creative Writing - Fiction study abroad program in Paris, Rome or Prague
  • Undergraduates: Enrolled in or completed Fiction Writing II (the second core course in the Fiction Writing program core sequence)
  • Graduate students: who have successfully completed or are currently enrolled in Fiction Writing I (entry level course)
  • International students may apply

Award based on:
  • Merit

Award amount:
  • Maximum of $1,000
