Exception Process

When ordering a transcript, the student must select the 'Purpose' that best describes why the transcript is being requested and indicate a third-party recipient. Generally, a transcript is considered office only if it is directly sent from the issuing institution to the intended third-party.

Columbia reserves the right to deny the release of an official transcript for a student with a financial hold if upon review the request it is determined the student is not eligible for an exception, there is insufficient information to grant an exception, or if the other holds exist on the student's account that restrict the release of official transcript.
