Carol Cohen Award

for continuing undergraduate students

The Carol Cohen Award was established to assist Theatre Arts Production and Practice majors with concentrations in Design and Technology and/or Theatre Arts with expenses related to research projects within their studies. Research expenses may include but are not limited to conferences, workshops, study abroad, and research trips. The award may also be used to facilitate other experiences related to the student's studies to help complete a project.

Deadline to Apply:

  • Fall 2026 Award: August 7, 2026 11:59pm

  • Enrolled as full-time Theatre Arts Production and Practice major with a concentration in Design and Technology and/or Theatre Arts during the Fall 2026 semester
    • Full-time students in other majors who are completing design and technical work in the Theatre Department may receive faculty approval to apply for the Carol Cohen Award
  • Students who will complete a minimum of 30 credit hours by the end of the Fall 2026 semester
  • Will have a well-defined research project, that may include travel, to be completed during the Fall 2026 term;
  • Students who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher

Award based on:
  • Clarity of the research project proposal and academic merit
Award amount:
  • Stipend up to $1,000
    Note: Award cannot exceed total cost of the research project

  • All applicants will be notified by email.
