Degree Completion Assistance Grant

for continuing undergraduate students

The Degree Completion Assistance Grant provides financial support to juniors and seniors who are nearing graduation, and who can demonstrate that receiving assistance from the grant will help them in achieving their academic goals. Preference is given to seniors who demonstrate significant financial need.

Application Deadline:  May 17, 2024 (11:59pm)

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Undergraduate degree seeking students who have completed a minimum of 75 credit hours toward a first BA/BS/BFA/BMus degree, with a minimum of 12 credit hours completed at Columbia by the end of the Spring 2024 semester
    • Preference will be given to students who will earn a minimum of 90 credit hours by the end of the Spring 2024 semester
  • Students who are in good academic standing based on grade level with a completion rate of at least 67% and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or above.
  • Students who have submitted all outstanding documents to Columbia Central

* Non-degree seeking, Graduate students, and visiting student are not eligible to apply.

Grant based on:

  • Financial need
  • Demonstration of commitment to degree completion
Grant amount:
  • Full Time: Maximum $3,000 per term/$6,000 per academic year
  • Three Quarter Time: Maximum $2,250 per term/$4,500 per academic year
  • Half Time: Maximum $1,500 per term/$3,000 per academic year
  • Less Than Half Time: Maximum $750 per term/$1,500 per academic year

    Note: Grants are awarded for Fall and/or Spring semesters only; grants do not apply for Summer semesters.
Notification of the grant:
  • All applicants will be notified by email by June 28, 2024. We regret that we are unable to give information regarding the committee's decisions over the telephone.
